Which foundation would you choose if you had to build on the same exact footprint of your old house? What if wetlands were located in the back of your property and “building green” was of the utmost importance to you? Of course you would choose the foundation of choice, Superior Walls! That is exactly what the team from This Old House has done. Energy-efficient Xi™ wall panels have been selected as the foundation for the next project on the Emmy Award-winning television series This Old House. The show is partnering with New Hampshire-based custom homebuilding company Bensonwood to build a new timberframe home in Weston, Mass.
Many thanks are extended to those who have been involved in this project; Adam Campbell, who was on-site while the installation was filmed for This Old House and who drew the plans and worked out the technical details;Ray McCreavy, who coordinated details of who, when and how; Shawn McDonald and Superior Walls of Upstate New York for manufacturing all of the walls and column pads; Superior Walls by Jointa Lime for supplying the certified installation crew; John Ruga and Superior Walls of New Jersey for providing the crane and last but definitely not least, Arthur Bougoulas who spent countless hours working to prepare the site, coordinating deliveries, etc. as well as a long list of endless details to make this project a success. This was definitely a “team effort” and it’s good to see that we can come together to achieve a common goal, even during these difficult times. The entire Superior Walls family will be able to build sales from this show just as we have in the past.
